Teaching, like any other jobs is also a performance of skill, knowledge and application of techniques. It is also a step by step process of relaying information, gaining and sharing existing knowledge in the classes and evaluation.

For this weeks discussion, a new model was tackled, the ASSURE model.

This is step by step process wherein a teacher analyzes the learners first, the background, characteristics and even the similarities and differences of the students. Next is having the objectives figured out, satisfying the three domains, cognitive, affective and psychomotor. After comes the selection of media appropriate for the objectives and its proper utilization. Next is requiring the student’s participation, followed by the overall evaluation of the process.

This model is most useful in the creation of lesson plans and the like.
